The January Man by Pat O’Connor

For example, the movie The January Man, Demons of February Seven Days in May, Four Days in November, One Day in December and so on. These titles seem to me very funny, because of their sameliness. That’s why I decided to watch one of them and see what its title hides.
The January man appeared to be an old film shot and directed by Pat O’Connor   in 1989. The New York Times called the movie a comedy-melodrama, but in my opinion it’s a comedy with a share of thriller. The film tells us about 11 murders in 11 months and shows wild atrocities of the serial maniac. The Mayor (Rod Steiger) of New York orders to the city police commissioner Frank Starkey to reinstate former policeman and also his brother Nicky Starkey in his job. Nicky is known for his unpredictable acts, he is very eccentric, but he is the only one man who is capable of catching the murderer. The plot is rather ordinary for action genre, but the film is worth to be seen for the great actors’ play. Of course, if you are a fan of film stars Kevin Kline  , Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Susan Sarandon I would highly recommend it to you. Actually it is a nice film – not dull, it has some interesting moments and perfect actors.
